What is...?
But of course a Jeopardy question leads to musing on creativity and art.
This past Sunday I had my first full day off in about a month. I told my partner that I was holding this day as my ME DAY! Now you maybe asking what is a me day and I shall tell you, but first
Hello all! Carly here on the newsletter this week. It is my first newsletter and while Krissy is doing other fabulous things this week I come to you with my creative musings dear readers.
So, I celebrated taking a “ME DAY” this week. Now what is a “Me Day”.
ME DAY
A day in which I show up for me.
Value ME!
You don’t have to be there for anyone or anything, nothing is planned and there are no time constraints on you. A “me day” is a day of flow where and when you do whatever inspires you, go wherever your intuition leads you, and exist on vibes and be present in the moment.
So that is the rough frame work of a me day. A vibes day if you will. What we may call a lazy day or an artist date or a date with yourself day. Whatever you want to call it or claim it as Sunday was a much needed and necessary ME DAY.
Now I had lofty ideas and musing for my day. I love to create a bingo card of options for my “Me Days”. I know I will never get to all of them and I will most likely be crashed out on my couch eating pizza and watching something. And lo and behold I went on an epically nerdy tear of watching backlog recorded episodes of Jeopardy while eating pizza and egg rolls.
Jeopardy is very exciting right now as there is a 27 day run happening and I’m so excited to see when and how Jamie Ding will end his Jeopardy run.
I don’t remember where in the 4-7 episodes I bingingly consumed but, this question came up and….
And NOT a one of them got the answer. I should also say the category was "“11 letter words”. Now this got me thinking.
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
–Albert Einstein
Imagination is a creative ability. It’s in our toolboxes as artists…as humans.
Every humans knows how to imagine.
We do it as kids when we play make believe.
Who else loved a box and some wrapping paper?
We tap into our imagination when we read a book and imagine the world and characters bringing them to life. Later we talk to friends and compare how we imagined the characters and the world in our heads.
We use our imagination when we design buildings, bridges, parks.
We use our imaginations to create systems.
We can use our imaginations to create, build, remember different systems and ways of being.
I wonder what we can accomplish, create, explore, build using our imaginations in pursuit of collective care.

Reuse glass jars and old mugs around your space to store various items. (think pens and pencils, jewelry, lotions, extra cables and cords)
Connect with friends and go in together on bulk items or have a community food share/pot luck.
Go for a walk out in nature. Sit and take in your surroundings.
Simply sit and listen to the sounds of nature. Even if you’re in the city listen to the birds or rustling of the trees.
